Hi everyone, today I wanted to share one of my favorite little brunch spots! Cafe Brasil is a colorful, cozy (not to mention photogenic!) restaurant serving creative and traditional Brazilian cuisine. They’re open for lunch and dinner, but my favorite time to go is for a lazy Sunday brunch.
The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, and the windows let plenty of sunlight in. You can sit outside or dine at one of their colorful indoor tables, always decorated with fresh flower bouquets. I like bringing guests here because it’s such a pleasant place to dine at. It usually doesn’t get too crowded so you can have a nice conversation. The service is also quick and friendly.
They offer a traditional feijoada stew, acai bowls, or try the tropical shrimp plate off their grilled menu. They also serve alcohol so you can get your Sunday brunch drink on if you want.
I usually order their breakfast plate, and they hook you up! The meal includes collard green and tomato scrambled eggs, toast, plantains, pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread), coffee, and fresh passion fruit juice. I usually add a side of sausage or bacon for good measure (their bacon is SO crispy, which I absolutely love). It’s a hearty meal! They offer refills on the coffee, too.
I love spicy food, so I always have to stop by their hot sauce bar (they have homemade hot sauce and yummy pickled, spicy veggies). It’s just the cutest!
And if you’re looking for somewhere to stay, the owners operate the equally adorable and quaint Villa Brasil Motel right next door. I’ve never been inside, but have heard good things about the motel.
All in all, if you are looking for solid Brazilian cuisine in a casual, cozy atmosphere, definitely check out Cafe Brasil!
Cafe Brasil is located at 11736 Washington Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90066
They have another location at 10831 Venice Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90034
(It’s a little smaller, but this is their original restaurant location. I prefer the ambiance of the Washington Boulevard location.)
