Today’s post is a Dior Lip Glow review on the new shades just released. I’m a huge fan of this product and always have one in my makeup stash. I was really excited to try the new shades, so I picked up a few of these babies as soon as I could!
I have a love affair with lip balm, and I can never be found without a tube of lip stuff in my bag! Lip balm was probably my first makeup item as a kid. I can’t even count how many tubes of Lip Smacker balms I bought with my allowance over the years! (Dr. Pepper and Red Raspberry were my favorite flavors).
As an adult, my childhood favorite is now replaced by Dior Lip Glow. I’ve tried countless lip balms from drugstore brands to expensive high end brands, and this is my absolute favorite. If you haven’t tried this super popular lip product yet, I highly recommend it. The texture of Dior Lip Glow is perfect for long lasting moisture without being overly sticky, and most of the colors are sheer enough to apply without a mirror. The color reacts with your skin’s natural chemistry, so you’ll end up with a pretty tint that’s unique to you.
My personal favorite is the Berry color, but I may have some new favorites after trying these new shades!
Dior Addict Lip Glow In New Finishes
There are SIX new shades being released! The original collection comes in a satin finish, which includes Lilac, Pink, Coral, and Berry shades. The new addition to this collection is a Raspberry shade and Ultra Pink, a darker pink. Dior also released two new finishes, matte and shimmer. The matte finish comes in Matte Raspberry and Matte Pink. The shimmer finish comes in Holographic Pink and Holographic Purple. I have to resist the urge to buy them all.
I picked up the new shades in Matte Raspberry, Holographic Pink, and Holographic Purple. Read on for my Dior Lip Glow review and swatches!
Dior Lip Glow Review: Matte Raspberry
This version of Lip Glow is definitely much more pigmented than the satin formulas. But as you can see in the photo, the color payoff is beautiful. I would say it’s more of a sheer lipstick, but a little more moisturizing. You can definitely see and feel that the texture is more matte as well. As someone who gets dry lips easily, I prefer the satin formula because the matte just felt a little more dry. If you look at my photo closely, you’ll see it does look a bit dry on my lips. One way to remedy that may be to apply another lip balm underneath, but that would defeat the purpose of this product! I love the color of Matte Raspberry, but if I repurchase I might get the satin Raspberry color which would probably be more sheer.
Dior Lip Glow Review: Holographic Purple and Pink
I love shimmer, glitter, and holographic lip products so I was pretty excited for these colors. I ended up being a bit disappointed because there was hardly any color payoff, and there didn’t appear to be much difference between the Holographic Purple and Pink versions. You really only need one or the other, in my opinion. Also, they didn’t appear holographic, but more just shimmery. If you want better holographic lip products, I would look elsewhere (I like this set here to apply over your lipstick). If you just want a pretty shimmer without adding much color, you’ll like the Holographic Purple and Pink.
The pro is that the shimmer didn’t feel gritty, and the texture overall feels the same as the satin formula. In the photo, I applied Holographic Purple over Matte Raspberry so you can see the subtle difference the shimmer adds. Also my lips don’t look as dry!
Overall, my favorite shade is probably still Berry, but I might consider trying the satin Raspberry once I finish up my current stash. Have you tried any of the new shades? What’s your favorite Lip Glow?
