Hi all! Don’t you just get excited when you find a great skincare product that makes you GLOW? The Glow Recipe Watermelon Moisturizer and Mask Set does just that.

If you read my blog at all, you know I LOVE Korean skincare products! Korean beauty products are known for their innovative approach and ingredients (and often for awesome packaging too!). Glow Recipe does not disappoint in this area.

I try so many different skincare products because my face is very fickle. I break out very easily (mostly hormonal, around my mouth), and my skin is combination type so I have both dry and oily spots to address. So best believe I get really excited when I find something that moisturizes my skin without making me more oily and still targets my dry spots adequately. I’m super happy I decided to pick up the Glow Recipe Watermelon Moisturizer and Mask Set!

Why Watermelon?

Growing up, I was told that rubbing watermelon rind on my face would be good for my skin. I didn’t really care about my skin at the time, but at least it was fun rubbing cold fruit on my face! Now I know that watermelon is packed with good stuff for your skin. Watermelon naturally contains:

Lycopene and Beta Carotene: Antioxidants that aid with skin repair and have anti-aging benefits.

Vitamins A and C: Promotes healthy collagen production for firmer, tighter skin. Vitamin A also helps with oil and pore regulation so it’s very beneficial for acne-prone skin.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer and Watermelon Mask Reviews

Glow Recipe Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer Review

I’ve been using Glow Recipe Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer every day for a few weeks and I can honestly say I’m ditching my other moisturizers right now because I am loving this so much. I use it morning and night, and I’m actually excited to moisturize my skin every day! The moisturizer is a thin, serum-like texture that absorbs quickly. Perfect for summer!

Pros:

Smells AMAZING: Like watermelon candy, but not in an artificial, overly sweet way. Just enough to feel like it’s a treat putting it on your face!

Oil-free and lightweight: Perfect for oily or combination skin types. Glow Recipe Watermelon Moisturizer doesn’t aggravate my acne, which is huge for me!

Makeup-friendly: Wears REALLY well under makeup! My makeup didn’t break up at the end of the day and my T-zone wasn’t very greasy at all (I use this primer and this foundation on top).

Super soft skin: The watermelon extract and hyaluronic acid left my skin seriously soft. I’m not joking when I say I keep touching my face after I put it on. I happened to have a facial right before I started using this stuff, and I feel like it really helped extend that glow you get post-facial!

Fancy glass bottle packaging: I mean, I’m a sucker for awesome packaging. Makes for a luxe gift too!

Cons:

Not fragrance-free: Sensitive skin types be aware! But again, I did not find the fragrance overwhelming.

Dry skin types may need more moisture: Glow Recipe does recommend layering a heavier moisturizer over this for dry skin, especially in the winter. I actually like to add a drop of a light oil and mix it with the Pink Juice for extra moisture. Argan oil or rosehip oil are fantastic choices and they don’t make me break out!

That’s it! Overall my impression of this product is overwhelmingly positive.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask Review

Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask is the product that went cult status super fast and sold out over and over! It’s really worth the hype if you want to wake up with glowing, soft skin. I learned the hard way that I shouldn’t keep using drying clay masks for my oily and acne-prone skin. My skin was just overcompensating for a lack of moisture…Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask is exactly what my skin needed!

The texture is a gel with a bouncy, cushioned feel on the skin. I put this on and woke up with baby soft, plumper skin!

There are two ways to use this mask:

For sensitive skin: Apply for 10 minutes, then rinse off.

Overnight for glowing skin: Pat on a generous scoop of mask, and leave it on until morning! If you do this method, Glow Recipe recommends using 2-3 nights a week. (I always use it overnight, my skin tolerates it with no problem.)

*Make sure to mix the mask thoroughly before you apply *

Pros:

Smells AMAZING: Just like the moisturizer!

Exfoliating ingredients for smooth skin: The mask contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to smooth and exfoliate your skin. I love AHAs because they’re good for everything from wrinkles, acne, dark spots, large pores, to dull and flaky skin! I always keep some sort of AHA in my skincare rotation.

Gentle, natural ingredients: Soothing, moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and various plant extracts keep the AHA from irritating your skin.

Ultra moisturizing: You really do get that glow when you wake up in the morning. My skin feels so supple and smooth I can’t stop touching it! It’s *almost* as glowy as when I get a facial!

Cons:

Not fragrance-free: Again, sensitive skin types be aware!

Concentration of AHA not listed: I’m pretty sure from using this that the percentage is rather low, making this a mild alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) product. I use pretty strong AHAs sometimes and I can tolerate it, but if you’re new to AHAs or your skin is very sensitive, this is a GREAT option to start with.

If you need more exfoliation like I do, I recommend rotating the mask with stronger acids. My personal favorites include these AHAs from Sunday Riley and Dr. Dennis Gross.

Don’t forget sunscreen!

Jar packaging: I’m never a fan of jars for hygienic reasons, but I do use a little spatula instead of my fingers and it works fine. I believe the full size mask does come with a spatula.

Overall, this product is totally worth the money in my opinion. It’s an easy and effective way to give your skin a huge dose of moisture and a mild exfoliation at the same time!

Glow Recipe Watermelon Set

You can buy the Glow Recipe Watermelon Set here or the Sleeping Mask and Pink Juice Moisturizer individually. I really recommend the Watermelon Set because you get a FULL-SIZE moisturizer and a travel size mask for only $45, while the moisturizer alone usually costs $39 and the travel size mask costs $22. You save $16 on the set! I’m all about skincare value sets to save $$ and try out multiple products at the same time!

Please let me know if you tried this and how you like it!
