Does your to-do list seem never-ending?

There are days when I wake up and I have so much to do, I don’t even know where to start. When I have a lot of tasks to complete, I find that I get overwhelmed very easily. I try to do a little bit of everything at once, and usually, I end up not really finishing anything at all. Does that sound like you at all? If so, you’re not alone!

I tend to feel much better about life in general when I can be organized. I love organizing my makeup, shoes, and clothes. So why the heck wasn’t I organizing my time and my daily schedule?

Ever since I started blogging, it’s become even more important to manage my time properly. There are only so many hours in a day! I’m not sure why I waited so long to do this, but I’m glad I finally decided to get more organized about my schedule. I added some simple steps to my day that you can easily implement into your own life too!

Tips to Organize Your Daily Schedule

Buy a daily planner

I love my daily planner, and honestly, I prefer using this sometimes over my phone calendar. I highly suggest buying an actual planner. Make sure it has a “weekly planner” (not just monthly) so you have space to plan out each day. There are a TON of affordable and stylish choices on Amazon.

Bloom planners are my favorite because there are a TON of cute designs under $9! The design is clean and simple so it’s easy to use. Here are a few cute planners I picked out!

Create A Daily Block Schedule

This step is actually really simple! First, make a list of what you need to accomplish each day. Order the list from MOST important to LEAST important. Estimate how much time you will need to complete each step and write it down next to the task. Make sure you also include smaller tasks you might think are minor, but still take up time (like laundry). Here’s an example:

Tuesday

  • Finish new blog post (2 hours)
  • Create new Pins and add to Pinterest and Tailwind (30 mins)
  • Finish editing website design (30 mins)
  • Do laundry (30 mins)
  • Get groceries (1 hour)

You get the point! Basically, break your tasks down into this list so you can see how much time you’ll need. If you don’t have enough time to schedule in the day, chances are you might be trying to do too much! If needed, reschedule some tasks to the next day or week.

Time Yourself

Don’t just assume you are staying within the amount of time you scheduled yourself. Take your phone out and set a timer for the exact amount of time you’ve allowed. This will help keep you on task and to not get distracted with time wasters like browsing Instagram!

If you want to get more detailed about tracking your time, there are programs like Toggl and RescueTime to help track the amount of time you spend on your computer. These programs automatically keep track of how much time you spend on websites and apps so you can see how productive you are. RescueTime also allows you to track time spent offline like your commute, meetings, etc. They both offer free versions so you can try it out.

Planner and flowers- organize your daily schedule

Organizing your daily schedule doesn’t have to be difficult. A few simple changes can make a big difference. I don’t feel as overwhelmed when I organize my schedule using these steps, even though I have the same amount of tasks to complete! It’s all about breaking your time down into small, manageable chunks.
